Proper care means longer wear.  Consumer education on upholstered furniture and recommended cleaning methods will keep your furniture looking beautiful.  All fabrics are cleanable if the fabric does not shrink and the colors do not bleed.  Because of the multitude of fabrics used in upholstering, you can assume they are not guaranteed against wear, shrinkage, and fading unless specifically tagged by the manufacturer and/or your local merchant.

Zippers on cushions are not necessarily indications that they can be removed to launder or dry clean.  Never remover covers, instead they should be cleaned in the same manner as the rest of the upholstery to prevent shrinkage.  Zippers are installed to save you dollars in maintenance and labor costs on cushion repair from time to time.
